    Ukraine REACH Pre-registration & Registration

    What is Ukraine REACH registration?

Ukraine REACH registration is a regulatory obligation for companies that manufacture, import, or place on the market chemical substances—either on their own, in mixtures or in articles—in quantities of 1 tonne or more per year in Ukraine. According to the Ukraine REACH Regulation, such substances must be registered with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine (MEPR). In line with this, a pre-registration process must also be completed.

Chemleg consultancy services ensure a smooth and compliant registration process for your business.

    Ukraine REACH Registration Process

The Ukraine REACH registration process consists of two phases, similar to the EU REACH process: pre-registration and registration.

    Pre-registration:
According to the UA REACH Regulation, substances that are already on the Ukrainian market must be pre-registered by January 26, 2026. Substances to be placed on the market after this date must be pre-registered within six months from the date of first placement on the market.

    Registration:
After pre-registration, substances must be registered based on their tonnage bands and hazard profile. The deadlines for these registrations are as follows:

    Ukraine REACH Deadlines

    • CMR substances (Category 1A and 1B) at ≥ 1 t/a
    • Substances very toxic to aquatic organisms (acute or chronic) at ≥ 100 t/a

    January 26, 2026

    • Substances at ≥ 1,000 t/a

    October 1, 2026

    • Substances at 100 – 1,000 t/a

    June 1, 2028

    • Substances at 1 – 100 t/a

    March 1, 2030

Non-Ukrainian companies must appoint a local Only Representative (OR) in Ukraine to manage this process. Chemleg can help you in this regard, as well.  [Read more in our article.]
